Other than the prior journal (There are some people who helped me through email, all voted go to the cops, none of them have DAs. Yay IRL friends)

I am actually seeking to improve my photoshop skills.

That's right now that some of the stress has been removed, and a problem has a solution (I forgot to mention our previous landlady has my fiancee's Drivers License and hasn't returned it, hence the cops solution)
I am going to be working on that commission i had an art block for (It's going away!!) and start focusing on landscapes and background work. I feel my art is lacking.

Tips are welcome, please no destructive criticism though if I post anything. While I get that some people can't seem to play nice and just rip a person's work apart, it is extremely discouraging. There are more tactful ways to give a critique not involving anything being mean.

Examples:

Constructive critic: I love how you did her hair, but you should work on the facial expressions. There is a very strong look to the piece but your anatomy needs some work, perhaps check out a book on the human figure to help with this, sometimes it's not the proportion so much as where to put the muscle. All in all I think you did pretty good.

Destructive: The hand is too rigid, his ass is in the wrong place (If you really want one see my Lockt picture. There's a PRIME example of a bad critique)

Anyway I am posting this up because you have no idea how much it makes a better artist who has had years of practice come off sounding like a pompous know it all asshole and it is just as bad for the artist as it is for the person who is being critiqued. This is something I learned from other artists, art schools, and the Charlie Russel Art Auction guest artists when asked what their biggest pet peeve is. (To Paraphrase: Other artists who can't see the value in another artists work) I really can't believe I have to tell people this.  If you need to go into a huge pointing out what YOU think is wrong with the picture, take it to note, and ask the artist a question "Did you intend to have his hands looking rigid and solid?" (Another top pet peeve, #2 actually was when someone assumes something is wrong but the artist intentionally did it to give a certain look.)

So please tips and critiques are welcome, just don't be an ass about it.

If anyone has any good photoshop beginner's tutorials, feel free to link them in the comments, I might actually do a Top Ten Best Tutorials or something journal.

Anyway I wouldn't honestly be asking for help, but with all my time going into school, I really don't have the time to scrutinize over the details of my work or look for a good source to learn from. I already go to my library and read up on how to draw...books just to see if they have any tips and ideas, but I really really really don't have all the time in the world anymore to be browsing the net for resources. I spend more time looking for work.

I hate rent lol.
